My very 1st Art Canvass

Hello, everyone!

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!

Here I am sharing a different project - my very 1st Art Canvas.

I started working on this canvas at precisely 12mn of February 14, 2014 and finished before breakfast was served on Valentine's Day morning.
What a way to greet Valentine's Day for me. =)

It's been a while since I got to work again on an art canvas.  The very 1st and I thought the last one was way back in May 2011.  We had an altered art canvas project in one of the scrapbooking sites I'm a member with.  I still have my altered art canvas in pink on the wall of my craft room.

For now, here's my work with a smaller art canvas:

I've had these mini art canvas set complete with easel stand a year or was it 2 years ago. . .  just tucked away in my craft room.  It's from All About Scrapbooking at the time Art Attack was all a hype and the AAS Scrapping Club is still going.

I guess the general color scheme I choose or had time to apply on my canvas were a combination of my 3 crafting blogs: 2 challenge blogs and my personal crafting blog ~ pink (Kaboodle Doodles); green (Creo by Lady Katutz); and near to the color scheme of the Filipino Scrapbookers Challenge Blog.  I just realized after waiting for every medium on my art to dry and show it's applied colors.

I guess those are the only colors I have that would blend together. ;-p
Much work on stencils with inks and more mediums and wooden stamps stamped here and there.

I just need to learn how to sign my name on the canvas, I guess. {sigh}

But for now, I have a Creo by Lady Katutz signature plate affixed:

So much for a Mixed Media Art Canvas. =)

"Irish Blessing" Gatefold Handmade Card for the Supreme Scrap World Tournament Challenge #2

Hi, everyone!

I'm back sharing another card project for Supreme Scrap Tournament for Card Challenge #2 - create a 3D card in monochromatic color.

Here are photos of my 3D Gatefold Handmade Card:

I first created the inside of my gatefold card with lots of layers: a base layer of pattern paper followed by an embossed white pattern paper which was double and triple embossed.  Another layer of paper doily with my DIY white fabric "kacha" flower, layered with another primed flower (white mediums applied) and primed leaves and to top it up with a crocheted flower from Jolee's Botique.  Top and bottom are double punched and embossed border strips of white cardstock, layered with more primed Prima flowers and crocheted Jolee's Botique flowers and natural colored abaca twine all over the border strip.

A stamped quote of an Irish Blessing on a white cardstock with more wooden heart and swirly cling stamping which is properly border punched at top and bottom and finally popped up for dimension, adorned with more flowers and a butterfly.  Buttons here and there with some to give dimensions to white mini flowers as well with rhinestones and the like.

The "Irish Blessing" read as:

"May the wings
of the butterfly
kiss the sun,
and find your
shoulder to light on.
To bring you luck,
happiness and riches,
today, tomorrow
and beyond."

My gatefold card standing on its own

Another angle photo of my gatefold card

My gatefold card squeezed shut.  A big flower created DIY out of baking cupcake doilies with a buttons and a flower with leaves and rhinestone to seal the gatefold card shut.

Lovely as ever,

"Mini Book" for Kaboodle Doodles Challenge #210 - To My Sweetheart

It's very rare for me to create a mini book other than a regular mini album.  Now, here I am with a mini book project for Kaboodle Doodles Challenge #210 with a theme of "To My Sweetheart".

I found an Enogreeting.com's Mini Book Kit at Little Town School and Office Supply which I would call as one of the nearest bookstore for me.  I utilized Kaboodle Doodles' sponsored digital stamp by Digi Darla Designs which is the Blooming Hearts digital stamp and added trimmings here and there.

This is now out for publication at Scrapbooking.com Magazine's February 2014 issue:

"Duet Valentine's Card" for the Filipino Scrapbookers Sketch Challenge #44

Four days before Valentine's Day, I guess most have either celebrated ahead last weekend or probably just this coming weekend.  Here's greeting all those lovely couples "A Happy Valentine's Day!"

For the Filipino Scrapbookers Sketch Challenge #44, I created a handmade card utilizing FSCB's digital stamp sponsor for February: Stitchy Bear Digital Outlet (SBDO)'s Duet Duet digital stamp by Stitchy Stamps herself.

Here's my handmade card:

Textured blank card from DCWV; background handmade paper and felt 3D flowers courtesy of Ces de Guzman de la Cruz of the Philippine Crafters Association; and Faber Castell coloring pens.

Here's FSCB's inspirational sketch:

"The World is My Home" ATC entry for Supreme Scrap Tournament Cardmaking Division Challenge #1

Hi, everyone!

I've completed my very 1st Artist Trading Card entry for the Supreme Scrap World Tournament under the Card Division Challenge #1.  The challenge is to create an ATC about home without using embellishments shaped of a home.

Here is my ATC:

I have been creating atcs only a few years ago and just last year, I got to creating atcs all year-round for the local Filipinos and the international atc community at atcsforall.

This time with SST Card Challenge #1, it was to my surprise that our challenge is to create an atc instead of a handmade card.  It took me a few days to conceptualize everything and had to do things step-by-step and step back in between to think things through and over.

My atc is a collage atc with pattern papers from K&Company's Que Sera Sera and Making Memories' Panorama.  Collaged and various washi tapes designs here and there.  Star Stamp heat embossed and various embellishments cut by hand from various pattern papers and popped up for dimension from one side to the other side of my atc.

It's not a quick atc to make with various dabbing of color here and there.  Wooden heart stamps stamped and cut for embellishment with one going for a double heart on the lower left corner (Martha Steward and Postoffice heart stamp).

My initials imprinted on light colored pink wax affixed on the top left corner above the fireworks cut-out.

And my quoted wish:  "THE WORLD IS MY HOME"

There you go, that's my atc entry for Supreme Scrap World Tournament Card Challenge #1

Lovely as ever,
