"2015 Ramon Magsaysay Awards" layout for Sunshine Inspired Designs

Hi, everyone!

This is my 2nd post for the month for Sunshine Inspired Designs as her Layout Designer.

August 2014 is Magsaysay Festival Month:

And they capped off the month last August 31, 2015, with the 2015 Ramon Magsaysay Awards Presentation of Ceremonies.  They had a week-long lecture series conducted by none other than the awardees for this year 2015.

This is my first time to attend the awards as a guest.  My dad has been attending these occasions eversince.  I was in so much hurry to prepare, having hears so much about the Magsaysay Foundation and the Award-giving body.

The Ramon Magsaysay Award:

President Benigno C. Aquino graced the occasion to deliver a message and to give the award to the 2015 Awardees.

The Awards night speaks of much of social and cultural responsibilities, of dignified giving and of human dignity.  The miles and the whole stretch the awardees went out to fulfill their duties as citizens of their country and their responsibility to their community and the whole world.

I was glad to have the opportunity to have my pictures taken with each one of the awardees together with my family.

I created 2 layouts with Sunshine Inspired Designs.  These are suppose to be a 2-page or a double page layout as the chosen photos to digi scrap with, covers not just 1, but needs to be in a 2-page spread.

Here are my layouts broken down into left side and right side, as follows:

the left side of my double page spread

the right side of my double page spread

I utilized Sunshine Inspired Designs' I'm In Love Digital Collection which is available at both With Love Studio and Scrappy Bee:

I also utilized the I'm In Love freebie by fellow CT member Robyns Scrapbookcrazy:

I love how Sunshine Inspired Designs did design each word art, embellishments / elements and selected papers.

"2014 Xmas Holiday" layout with Sunshine Inspired Designs

Hi, everyone!

Today, I start anew with Sunshine Inspired Designs.

No, I'm no longer the CT Writer for the team.
I have now shifted to being a Layout Designer as part of Sunshine Inspired Designs Creative Team.
I can create more layouts with SID's digital kits.

I have a number of pictures from the 2014 Holiday Season, the family's walk-in visit to Manila Hotel, Luneta Hotel and to Little Soul's Convent in Tagaytay City, all during the Christmas Season last 2014.

What better way to document the entire season in 1 layout with Sunshine Inspired Design's S'mores mini kit:

I really love the selection of photos I've chosen for this layout.  They are my favorite ones from the roll digitally captured.

The Manila Hotel was bedecked in red and white Christmas colors of huge Christmas trees and candy canes.  A huge piano keyboard is the centerstage of the Manila Hotel's lobby last December 2014. Not in the layout is the Gingerbread house which served as a Christmas souvenir shop of treats and sweets for the 2014 Holiday Season.

Luneta Hotel didn't tary with a Christmas nativity scene at the lobby with wondrous Christmas decors on their stairway.  You won't miss their fabulous seats fit for a queen.

Little Souls Convent was all aglow for the 2014 Holiday Season.  Quiet and serene as the place is so tranquil save when the bell rings to call goers to partake of the Holiday Season mass.  I love the cool breeze distinct of Tagaytay City.

My digital scrapbook layout is simplistic in stance.  In a double mat with a huge frame which could also be utilized for project life pages, I adorned the page with the cute S'mores embellishments or elements of hearts, the moon and the stars, the bonfire, and marshmallow on a stick or should I readily call them s'mores galore.

The embellishments / elements reminds me so much of what I wanted to enjoy during the Christmas Holiday Season in Tagaytay City or Baguio City where there is cooler climate compared to staying in Manila for the Holidays.

By the way, the S'mores mini kit of Sunshine Inspired Designs is available at With Love Studio (WLS).

San Agustin Museum

Hi!

On the day weekend that the Sto. Niño de Cebu stayed in Manila, my parents and I visited San Agustin Church to get a glimpse of the Sto. Niño.  Unfortunately, we arrived too late as the Sto. Niño de Cebu is making it's tour to Pasig unto Laguna.

So, I decided to visit and take a look inside the San Agustin Museum.  It's been a long, long time since I wanted and craved to go inside the Museum being a frequent visitor of Intramuros with my dad.

It was a hot afternoon and I went in after lunch.  You could tell it was way too hot as I emerged from the Museum almost an hour after, drenched in sweat.

I found the San Agustin Museum very wonderful and very typical of a religious museum.  I loved taking photos of every church bell on display for the Sto. Niño de Cebu's visit and it was my chance to go near the altar of the San Agustin Church.  I regret that I didn't try to climb the stairs of the antique pulpit of San Agustin.

I went around the museum premises and what caught my eye was the Biblioteque or the library.  I love the feel of studying, researching and leafing thru all those ancient books of knowledge on religion and history.

I love the other room which displayed saints in ivory and wood adorned or garbed, the vestments of the priests in ancient times or historical times and relics and pieces of history on each wooden panel of a church.

I love looking at the ancient paintings that showed or espoused the History of the order of San Agustin thru the years.

My eyes rested and relaxed as I went thru and around the San Agustin Church' garden.

Thank you San Agustin Museum administrator for allowing me time to visit your musuem!!

Proud Pinoy Stitchers August 2015 Meet

Hi, everyone!

I'm glad to share with you the Meet I attended last August 21, 2015 at SM Megamall with the Proud Pinoy Stitchers & DMC, Philippines.

I have been with the group Proud Pinoy Stitchers since year 2014, and have been keeping abreast of all of their activities and latest releases of charts or crossstitch patterns and materials in needlecrafts.

I have been happy going back to my first love in needlecrafts which was crossstitching, completing projects after projects when I was still a young teen.

Now, I'm back stitching again.  And what greater treat than to crossstitch one of the Philippine National Artists' paintings --- An Amorsolo painting.

I have been laboring on my Amorsolo's Girl with Mangoes crossstitch project since November 2014.  I briefly stopped and resumed only early this year with hopes of joining PPS' Karayom Masterpieces II Exhibit to be held at Christ the King Parish in Green Meadows.

Happily, I attended my 1st Meet last August 21 (on a National Heroes Day - a Holiday) to have my work scrutinized for the exhibit.

I was able to ask for the lone DMC Artist Aldrin Parilla's autograph on the cover of one of his crossstitch designs with DMC, I bought last year 2014 - the Butterfly Sprite.

Thank you so much, Drin, for being so gracious with signing my Butterfly Sprite crossstitch pattern kit bought from Dreams, Makati City.

I brought along an Amorsolo postcard of the Angelus, an oil painting on canvas, for the participants to sign, as my keepsake of attending the meet.  Happily, I have the postcard thoroughly and completely signed by everyone, as shown below:

mailed and received - August 25, 2015:

The meet was like a mini CHA on or with a focus on needlecrafts.  A mini convention and/or meet.  The room was readied for a meeting with the PPS heads briefing us and updating us on the progress and details of the upcoming exhibit.  On the other side - a table was set aside for the PPS board of panelists taking care of quality control, inspecting every work, correcting and finding work that would qualify.

Around the room scattered on different tables are crossstitchers, crossstitch pattern designers and artists with a few of their wares up for sale.  It was even dubbed as a Stitch Sale Madness.  I brought along my Creo by Lady Katutz crossstitch patterns.

Here's a scrapbook digital layout I created from the event:
(Also for my DT project for the Book of Life Design Team)

Unfortunately, I'm making my Girl with Mangoes crossstitch project my own.  I won't be finishing it starting today until end of September or may it be up to October 2015 complete with framing for the Karayom Masterpieces II exhibit.

I have spoken with the PPS panelists scrutinizing all the projects that would be making it in, and it ended that way for me.

Thus, with a heavy heart, I'm making it my own now completing it with my own crossstitch label.

Debating whether I need to resurrect my very 1st crossstitching hobby label which is BROOCHES n' CROSSSTITCHES. . . . or should I rest with having it under my general hobby label of CREO BY LADY KATUTZ.

The aforementioned is something that I'm now debating about as I go on finishing and completing my Girl with Mangoes crossstitch project.

Hopefully, if I could make another one for an Amorsolo DMC and PPS Exhibit again.

My 9th batch of 2015 CBLK postcards

Hi!

I've waited for a few weeks before I could have a sample printed of my Postcrossing.com's approved Meet-Up and Meeting Postcard Designs.

Upon receipt of Postcrossing.com's approval and further edited to fit completely the requirements, here I am sharing with you the printed postcards.

They're ready to see some action, albeit, meet only a few postcrossers for a Meet-Up and hopefully conduct in the near future a Meeting too for more projects and activities with fellow postcrossers whether in Facebook, in official Postcrossing.com or in the Philippine Postcrossing Community.

Here they are, a few cards printed:

Postcrossing Meet-Up Postcard

Postcrossing Meeting Card

The above designs were started last year, as I was hoping to complete it in time for Postcrossing.com's 9th Annivesary and my contribution to my 1st Meet-Up to attend with the Philippine Postcrossing Community locally.

However, the design remained unfinished last year 2014.  I was able to complete it only this year 2015, in time for Postcrossing.com's 10th Anniversary.  But what transpired was processing for the design's approval, which came in a number of weeks after my submission for the 10th Anniversary Celebration.  The design of which I plotted on Postcrossing.com's 10th Anniversary MAP . . . mapping the celebration around the world.

Cheers to Postcrossing.com!!

Now, it's all done and complete.

Maybe its use will be for this year's World Post Day in October 2015.
