My 1st Cake Decorating Adventure

Satisfied with my Cake Baking Adventure, I eagerly plunged into another baking adventure focusing on Cake Decorating.  This is with the hopes of having a Cake Baking Stint. ;-)

It was really interesting - with us choosing our own character pans.  I immediately chose a Princess Carriage Pan to bake on.  It was an ardous but enjoyable task to work on.  But sadly,  I had to deal with aching hands in the evening and 2 or was it 3 days after.  Gee!!  I can barely write, type, grip nor clasp.  I'm still working on clasping at the moment I'm writing this.  This is one of my scheduled posts coz I'm so eager to share with you the results of my 2-day hardwork on this wonderful cake.  For me, it's a feast to one's eyes.  I had to stare at it at home and won't eat it until the following day when I had satisfied myself with taking photos of it for remembrance. =)

Here are the photos of my cake:

I've added (1) last detail on my cake.  Can you spot it?

My Cake Baking Adventure

I plunged into another adventure in baking and this time "it's to bake a cake".  I have in so far learned and tried baking cheesecake.  Now, I want to bake me some cakes not just for me but for the family for all occasions and hopefully for friends and relatives . . . {hopefully}.

Here are the results of my 1-day cake baking adventure . . . . I've learned so far to bake 4 kinds of cake:
Mocha Chiffon Cake & Cupcakes with Mocha Buttercream

Sliced Mocha Chiffon Cake

Butter Cake with Whipped Cream Frosting and Heart Sprinkles
Sliced Butter Cake

Yellow Cake with Italian Meringue (Boiled Icing) and Sprinkles

Sliced Yellow Cake

Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Fudge

Baking Experiments: Chocolate Crinkles & No Sugar Lemon Cheesecake

It's time again for another post on my baking experiments.  This time I had a hand on chocolate crinkles which everyone who were able to taste it were hands down on my choco crinkles baking result.  YAY!!  I just need to perfect baking it in the right and uniform size if I were to offer it for Valentine's Day.  What do you think? ;-)

And as per request of a former cheesecake customer of mine, I experimented on baking a No Sugar Cheesecake.  I decided to bake a No Sugar Lemon Cheesecake and made a go on splurging on a sugar sweetener which was a little tough but it's all right on my budget.  Unfortunately by the time I was able to bake it, my requester was no longer interested and asked to pass up ordering one.  Darn, I baked (2) No Sugar Cheesecakes thinking that she would like to give it a try.  Luckily my aunt dropped by to visit and delved or eagerly dived into my  No Sugar Cheesecake (which by then I decided to add cherry toppings for my family to be able to eat it).  My aunt's family found it yummy!!  Thank God!!

Plain Cheesecakes Order & Choco Chip Cookies Baking Experiment

Hi everyone!

Please accept my apology for not updating you on my current baking status.  Had to recharge for most of the month of January 2012.  And it's only now that I got to blog again on my baking.

As a post New Year thing, I got an order for (2) plain cheesecakes from a former college classmate.  If I were patient enough and hadn't judged the 3rd cheesecake to be consumed by my family, I could have also sold it to a former MBA classmate {darn!!}.  Anyway, I forgot to take a photo of the (2) plain cheesecakes which with much effort I packaged with my own handmade ribbon.  I better get to practice more on making bows and ribbons hehehe.

My mom not easily satisfied asked me to modify a recently baked choco chip recipe I found.  Here's the photo of my choco chip cookies after further recipe modification:

The above cookies are more chewy, chocolatier and thinner which makes it easy to bite and chew compared to the 1st recipe I had. =)

I'll be posting more of my baking experiments . . . so stay tuned!

My Baking Experiments: New Cheesecake & Choco Chip Cookie Recipes

Before the year-ended, I was (should I say) in a baking mode.  After all baking orders have been met before Christmas Eve, my mom coaxed me to try out other recipes.  I tried out a new cheesecake recipe and a new chocolate chip cookie recipe. . . .

The new cheesecake recipe, we found at the back of one of my ingredient's carton box.  Trying to economize left-over ingredients, I decided to make a go on this recipe.  The result . . . was a sweet "leche-flan like textured" cheesecake which my mom and sis preferred than the original recipe I had made previously.  Being the creative crafter, I decided to make it a multi-flavored (or 6 flavored) cheesecake: plain, blueberry fruits, cherries, oreo, blueberry jam, strawberries.  Photo I'm sharing below:

As for the chocolate chip cookie new recipe, I baked it accdg to the recipe.  The result was close to the Mrs. Fields chocolate chip cookie but I still have to practice more to make it perfect. ;-)

Baking and Me

This is a follow-up post to yesterday's for I would like to share photos taken last Saturday morning of me before our baking session started. . . .

My 4th day Baking

Hi everyone!

Last Saturday, we worked or rather baked at a much relaxed pace compared to the previous Saturday.  But still I felt the aches and pains.  My body was really complaining.  {sigh & grrrr at my not so tolerant physique}.

I even had to forego a HS grand reunion that evening at my home school.  I would have signed up for an alumni card then.  But hey, I'm not even sure if there's someone I know of who would have attended and kept me company during the said reunion. . . so nothing wrong in missing the event.

Other than that, I had to forego fetching my mom at her own o-nite reunion with former colleagues.  Anyway, I was able to fetch her the following day followed by an out-of-town trip. . . so I'd guess you'd understand why I wanted to rest after that baking day.

Anyway, back to baking. . . .

My 3rd day was PIE DAY!!  We were able to bake 3 pies out of 4 scheduled that day.  And as of Monday morning, nothing was touched.  I guess we were waiting for my mom to arrive to see my baked pies before we could heartily devour them . . . . and I still have to buy those Chef Rudolf's suggested partner ice creams to make eating them perfect.

Here are my baked pies:

APPLE PIE - does it look close to an American Pie?

Should be Pecan Pie but no pecans avail.  Thus, a NUT PIE!

My Creo Cookies

With still 2 Saturdays to go for baking and having just finished learning to bake cookies, I've found a suitable packaging for my cookies . . .

Now, I just need to find the time to bake those cookies for Christmas. . .  and with that I hope I'd be able to remember and duplicate what we've done during our baking session 2 Saturdays ago.  Uh oh  . . . it just hit me that I need to invest in a good mixer for this purpose. :(
