Card Swap at Let's Make Greeting Cards

I guess it's been a year since the card swap and
it's only now that I've decided to post this.

I guess it's the heartbreak of knowing that
(2) of my swap partners's card didn't reach me and
the realization that it's the end of that and
nothing more . . .

I will no longer share with you the photos of
(3) batches of cards by 2's I've sent
to my swap partners.
I guess I no longer received confirmation of receipt
of my cards as well.
Might be lost just the same fate as
the cards I must have received.

Anyway, I would like to share with you
the "Thank You" Cards that I received from this activity.
These are the only handmade cards that made thru:
from Lisa Allen

"Sounds of the Season" Christmas Card for Let's Make Greeting Cards

This is my 5th & last handcrafted card for Let's Make Greeting Cards.  The theme I had to work with is "Christmas".

I believe Christmas is and should always be a bright, happy, festive and a merry occasion.  With everyone happily taking part in the preparation until the day after the occasion.
For me, Christmas is usually in colors of red and green.  But for my card, I opted and wanted things to be sparkling to denote a wonderful festivity or occasion.  Thus, I added gold trimmings and accents.  Don't worry these are all from my stash and some are from scraps.

My handmade Christmas card:
SUPPLIES:  White Textured Cardstock: DCWV; Die Cut Frame: Lily Bee Design – Christmas Town; Banner Stickers: Lily Bee Design – Christmas Town; Sentiment Sticker: Lily Bee Design – Christmas Town; Gold Holly Christmas Décor: National Bookstore; Other: Gold Satin Ribbon (from scraps)

"Ghost" Halloween Card for Let's Make Greeting Cards

This is my 4th handcrafted card for Let's Make Greeting Cards.  The theme I had to work with was "Halloween".

I only have a few Halloween materials in my stash to work with due to the fact that we don't celebrate or indulge in any Halloween celebration.  The said occasion is not that widely observed or celebrated in terms of festivities here in my country.

I have to thank Michelle Hodges, our former DT Coordinator with another site I'm with, for she sent me some Halloween stuff last year as a gift and a few more as part of my winnings in her challenge at Sketches4All.

I enjoyed creating this card, adding some mystery, some pizazz with the abundance of glitters and glittering embellishments on my card.  Withouth further ado, here's my Halloween card going with my own "Ghost" theme:
SUPPLIES: White Textured Cardstock: DCWV; Pattern Paper: Bo Bunny – “Back to Basics” Whoo-ligans Collection; Purple Thread: DMC; Others: Bat Die Cut, Ghost Sentiment Die Cut title, Black Lace, Olive Green Ribbon, Olive Green Fabric Flower, Glittered Small Purple Flowers (gifts from Michelle Hodges).

Cardmaking Day with LMGC

It's the end of my term, as well as with all the 1st batch of designers of LMGC.  Rochelle, the owner of LMGC thought of organizing a meet up for the Filipinas forming part of her design team.  And what a great way to end our term and meet up by having a cardmaking day held at Sunshine Asuncion-See's craft studio.

I didn't think that I could make it or at most join in the event and funfare due to the fact that I was indispose for about 2 weeks, but God willing I was up in good condition and got myself a clean bill of health (i think) all ready to attend.  Just the thought that what a happy coincidence for all of us to make it to the said activity with one designer flying from Davao and us meeting in a venue so much near to my place of residence.  It was just like it was all just waiting to happen.  Thanks to Rochelle and Shine!

Here's our group photo with our handmade card output for the day:
(I missed having the opportunity of having Shine included in my photo.
Maybe next time, perhaps . . . )

And a closer shot:

Here are the (3) cards I was able to finish,
with (2) lacking in sentiment still:
(How I wish I got photos of the cards my co-designers have done)

"Thinking of Friends" Card for Let's Make Greeting Cards

It's the time of the month again for
another set of cards for Let's Make Greeting Cards. . .

My 1st task for July 2012 is to create a "Thinking of You" themed handmade card.  Utilizing materials courtesy of LMGC - October Afternoon's "Schoolhouse" & Echo Park's "Note to Self" Collection, I commenced creating a "THINKING OF FRIENDS" card.  It's been quite a while that I haven't seen or heard from my old friends, making this as the inspiration of my DT project for LMGC.

Here's my handcrafted card:

SUPPLIES:  Cardstock: Star Paper Corp.;  Pattern Paper: Echo Park’s Note to Self, October Afternoon’s Schoolhouse;  Thread: DMC; Friends Sticker: Echo Park’s Note to Self Collection;  Flowers: Prima;  Pink Satin Ribbon: Echo Park's Be Mine Collection;  Heart-shaped Pink Metal Brad: Echo Park's Be Mine Collection;  Glimmer Mist: Tattered Angels;  Other: small doily

"No. 1 Dad" - Father's Day Card for Let's Make Greeting Cards

I usually have difficulty creating or getting any gift for my dad.  I guess it was easier to give gifts for my mom, girls or ladies.  The same goes for me in creating LOs.

Anyway for our next theme assignment at Let's Make Greeting Cards, I made use of the materials provided by the said site courtesy of Rochelle.  Thanks so much, Rochelle!

Without further ado, here's my handmade Father's Day Card:

SUPPLIES:  White Cardstock:  Star Paper Corp.;  Pattern Paper:  Echo Park’s “Note to Self” Collection kit;  Foam Alphabet Stickers:  Filstar Distributors Corp.;  Tag Cut-out:  Echo Park’s “Note to Self” Collection kit;  No. 1 Sticker:   Echo Park’s “Note to Self” Collection kit;  Thread  in Baby Blue color:  DMC;  Pen:  Parker;  Glitter Glue:  Leeho;  TOOLS:  Craft Pick:  Tim Holtz.

"Queen for A Day" Birthday Card for Let's Make Greeting Cards

Hi everyone!

It's our 1st reveal as design team with Let's Make Greeting Cards.  And (1) of my 1st task was to create a birthday card.  I fancied making use of the materials I got from Rochelle of LMGC, a digital kit I have previously purchased & toyed with the idea or of how nice it would be to feel special on your birthday.  In short or to the extreme, to be "Queen for A Day"! LOL

Anyway, here's my rendition of
my above concept and
selected birthday theme assignment:
HYBRID SUPPLIES:  Cardstock:  Star Paper Corp.; Pattern Paper: October Afternoon’s Schoolhouse;  Digital Paper:  Echo Park This That Graceful;  Digital Elements:  Echo Park Birthday Girl;  Thread:  DMC;  Other: doily, white satin ribbon, vintage stick pin;  TOOLS:  Decorative/Pinking Scissors:  Soft Canary;  Craft Pick:  Tim Holtz.
