Good afternoon, everyone!
It's me again back with a more refined version of my "Gatefold Card with an Irish Blessing Quote" as entry to the Supreme Scrap Tournament Card Challenge #2: Create a 3D monochromatic card of any colour scheme of your choice with no use of cutting machine.
Here are photos of card entry: (refined this afternoon to be re-submitted) I hope these set of photos of my card project thoroughly qualifies me for the 2nd card challenge round for SST. A predominantly off-white colour scheme 3D gatefold card done with much dry embossing of various designs and border punches and lots of DIY flowers from doilies in my stash of supplies and DIY flowers out of white "katcha" fabric (almost cheesecloth in material) way back in the olden days.
DETAILS OF THE GATEFOLD CARD'S INSIDE:
First layer: Pattern paper base adhered on white cardstock, smudged and primed with gesso for an off-white appeal.
Second layer: a seprate white cardstock triple dry embossed with only 2 emboss designs in 3 parts of the cardstock going three passes on my cuttlebug. Inked for a more elaborate visual of the design.
Third layer: one big doily trimmed on one side and adhered on top of the embossed cardstock.
Fourth layer: 2 border strips of white cardstock double border punched with embossed details on top and bottom horizontal edges. Carefully adhered. Decorated with primed up with gesso Prima flowers layered on one side. Added crocheted Jolee's flowers and adorned with natural colored abaca twine and rhinestones.
Fourth layer: On top of the doily, created a DIY flower out of white "katcha" fabric. Further layered with primed with gesso leaf, primed with gesso prima flower and on the very top an off-white crocheted Jolee's tulip flower with rhinestones.
Fifth layer: An Irish Blessing cling stamp utilized to stamp the quote on a white cardstock. More stamping with a wooden heart stamp and a swirl cling stamp for more intricate design. Trimmed the white cardstock with the quote border punched at the top and lower edge of the cardstock. Popped for dimension on all the layers on the left inside of the card.
Final touches of inside of the card: adornment of more off-white mini flowers, buttons primed with gesso all over (some beneath the white mini flowers with only one left visible), and a buttefly accent primed in white gesso script impressed with a script embossing folder.
Here are more angle shots of my gatefold card:
The card's front:
DETAILS OF THE GATEFOLD CARD'S FRONT:
Doilies
from Greenbrier were utilized to form a DIY flower, adhered and glued
on the card front. This is secured with a button with a white mini
flower on top with a leaf primed with gesso as accent.
Here's wishing to qualify with this revised / refined gatefold card of mine for the second round of Supreme Scrap World Tournament Card Challenge #2.
