My 7th Batch of 2015 CBLK Postcards

Hi!

Due to insistent demand to resume my postcard printing activity, here are my 7th set of CBLK Postcards.  These card designs were prepared as early as May 2015 for a Design Team Member Project.  I thought I could resume printing my card designs next year in year 2016, but here I am back printing again.

These designs are a part of my 2 Art Series in Pink . . . from watercolor paper, oil painting paper, sketch pad to handmade art cards . .  . I have now digitized them and produced a digiart version of my 2 Art Series in Pink.

Here are my new card designs which are my 1st foray in DigiArt Work:

Kaboodle Doodles Philatelic Souvenir by Royal Mail

Hi!

I've been so glad and overjoyed for the past few days.  I have been concealing my excitement upon receipt of 5 envelopes from Royal Mail.

These are my orders from their stamp shop catalogue.  I thought I'd never get to the point of having a tri-issue ordered for my Kaboodle Doodles team and community, a philatelic souvenir for my keepsake.

It was Dorin Cojocariu who showed me where to have my Kaboodle Doodles postage stamp ordered and fulfill the dream and my plan for a tri-issue Kaboodle Doodles stamp.

A tri-issue from Philippines - USA - United Kingdom.

I have my stamp design submitted already to the Philatelic Division of Manila CPO or PHLpost.  I have already pushed an order with Mr. Cojocariu under zazzle.com for the USA issue.  And I was so esctatic that Royal Mail responded promptly and swiftly to my online order.

Here's my Kaboodle Doodles stamp by Royal Mail - Smilers:

I have ordered for more stamp booklets of the definitives and also Mini sheets of these as my added souvenir from Royal Mail.  I'm looking for an opportunity for these to help convert into maxicards the few postcards I've printed in tribute for Kaboodle Doodles.  I hope to find someone from Edinburgh to do the cancellation for me.

Wish me luck!!

My All Days in My Everyday

Have you ever wondered about your everyday?  or Have you ever thought analytically how you spend your day everyday?  or what activities take you All Day and have fun with it or about it?

Since my operation last July 1,  I have incorporated with my everydays going to an All Day Convenience Store.  Things became different after the operation.  I could no longer stay for the whole day at home after my recovery.  The colors of the house and the play of lights and sounds in my home environment is not as conducive to let me spend All Day or All of My Days just staying home with my craft.

I resorted to going to an All Day Convenience Store where the ambiance is bright, clear and just everything white in my eyes with splashes of color.  It's where all the colors in my craft come to life.

My administrative work in my arts and craft hobby becomes more easier to accomplish, my adult book coloring activity more doable and relaxing, and I just recently discovered the convenience in continuing with my Girl with Mangoes crossstitch project became much clearer to my eyes and my mind.  Albeit, crossstitching is a bit slower than doing it in the confines of my room but it is cooler to my eyes to be doing it in the confines of the All Day Convenience store.  I prefer sitting quietly in one area, maybe a little chit chat here with a seatmate, but preferably quietly stitching and not loosing count of my every stitch.

There!  I've discussed the convenience of staying at All Day.

Now, let me talk about food you can buy at All Day. . . .

I believe the concept of All Day is a coffeeshop and a mini convenience store put together, making it bigger and yet cozier than a 7-Eleven.  It started as another 7-Eleven to be or a Mini Stop to be, but with their mini coffeeshop kiosk, it proved to be a friendly place to stay and hang-out.

The food is a mix of a typical food you can find at a convenience store from snacks of biscuits, junk food to real food of sandwiches, siopao, mini pizza, empanada to pastries.

I like the choices of drinks, from their big self-service ref to drink dispensers of juices and coffee.  Well, if you'd prefer for a Starbucks-like drink, you better tap the counter of All Day's coffeeshop for your choice of concocted coffee from iced coffee to hot to warm coffee.

I have to admit, I had a problem with their heating food with All Day's microwave.  The rice that goes with their rice meal ends up too hard.  The pastries, on the otherhand, becomes too hard burnt-inside and not really as edible when microwaved.

I'd request for those mentioned food items to be not subjected or chucked in the microwave.  And I prefer chancing upon newly cooked rice from their kitchen or from their serving pastry chef.

Anyway, so much to say about All Day that I have definitely included All Day Convenience Store with my Everydays.  Who knows I might stay at All Day longer to take care of me to have an enjoyable to delightful All Day at the Convenience Store. . . .  hmmm . . . . I never really thought of it that way before but it might work for me, maybe once a week aside from my everyday minutes of staying there.

A Book Review: The ABCs of Handlettering

I have finished reading a good book related to my arts and crafts work.  It is The ABC's of Handlettering with author Abbey Sy:

I was so esctatic to be able to grab a copy of her book.  I was doing my calligraphy work and typography work on my own and it's great news to hear that there's a book for beginners on handlettering.

My aim is to help me know the handlettering terms more specifically an intro to handlettering branching into calligraphy.  I guess the book speaks of generally of handlettering with a little glimpse on calligraphy.

It helped broadened my knowledge on the features I'd see on my editing software and digital scrapbook application . . .  on fonts, leading, styles and techniques on handlettering with a little glimpse on digitizing too.

I'm afraid the book isn't as instructional as I thought the book would be.  But nevertheless, the book is informative and a good read with an introduction on Manila's handletterers . . . those who have studied further handlettering going to the extent of taking additional education abroad and showing us readers how they make use of these learned talents.  Their passion and how everyone started into the art of handlettering.

It is an easy and fun read.  And yet I started a little confused as to classifiying each bit of information found in the book, if it belongs to arts, digitals, letterings and many other forms of classification.  I would even would have wished that Abbey had shown where handlettering falls in the heirarchy or section of the Arts for me to get a clear glimpse of this branch or added element of lettering.  And also the position of a letterer in the arts and crafts industry.

I have been glad and I do enjoy injecting handlettering or more specifically calligraphy in my arts and crafts project . . . from my art journaling, project life pages, book of life pages and scrapbook layouts.

It is fun!  And to know of this particular element or part of one of my projects is something that I would like to know and learn about.  And know I would like to learn more, as everything forms part or is a part of a discipline from which everyone can derive pleasure in creating a beautiful and wondrous project.  For me, in my art and crafts discipline which I, for now, call still a hobby.

Thanks for releasing such a book to Summit Media, Abbey Sy and all the letterer artists included / introduced in the book (it's so good to know these artists do exist), and to National Bookstore for making the book reachable for everyone!

Hibiscus (Gumamela) CBLK Maxicards in Sepia-tone

Hi, everyone!

Sharing the Heritage Month Celebration of the University of the Philippines and PHLpost, with my Creo by Lady Katutz Gumamela Maxicards in sepia-tone.

These are a Special Issue with cancellation of June 12, 2015 - Philippine Independence Day.  The Gumamela CBLK postcards are a part of the May flower CBLK collection for 2015.  But the availability of the Hibiscus Hybrid stamps from PHLpost made the creation of the maxicards done after the month of May 2015 as the stamps were made available in the month of June 2015 at the P.O. accessible to or near me.

I have 3 sets of CBLK Gumamela postcards.
What I'm sharing with you now, with my 3rd and last post on Hibiscus CBLK cards, is one of the 3 sets - the one in sepia-tone:

The above 4 black n white Hibiscus (Gumamela) CBLK Maxicards are with the Centennial Series of Hibiscus Hybrid philatelic stamps (set of 4 stamps).

The above 4 black n white Hibiscus (Gumamela) CBLK Maxicards are with the Millenium Series of Hibiscus Hybrid philatelic stamps (set of 4 stamps).

I regret the cancellation is not as clear or readable.
