For the 5th week of October 2012,
we have a new kind of challenge - a Scraplifting Challenge.
We're asked to scraplift any of our co-DT's LGS LO.
Now, isn't that a neat and awesome challenge?
With the overflowing talent my co-DTs have,
I'd grab the chance to scraplift one of their works.
Assigned for me to scraplift was any of Laura Whitaker's LGS work.
Here's my chosen LO from Laura's LGS' DT LOs:
(her June 18th LGS inspiration LO)
Here's my lift or LO version:
SUPPLIES: Pattern Paper: Echo Park's "Le Ballet du Grand" Mini Theme Collection kit; Stickers: Echo Park's "Le Ballet du Grand" Mini Theme Collection kit; Cut-outs: Echo Park's "Le Ballet du Grand" Mini Theme Collection kit; Pearls: Queen & Co, Kaisercraft; Flowers: Prima; Glitter Heart Foam Stikcers: Filstar Distributor Corp.; Baker's Twine: WRMK; Other: pink heart doily.
Well, it's not an exact scraplift. But I really do want to remain true to Laura's inspirational LO. I scraplifted the layers of pattern paper around the photo . . . I just added a doily heart mat. Then I had the photo skewed a little and lifted having baker's twine wrapped on the lower portion of my photo. I wanted to remain minimalist but the LO calls for more color around the heart doily matted photos. Thus, the "Happy Feet" border strip and the tag on the left side. I just had to balance the LO out with stickers on the top portion of my LO. I hope it was not that bad, eh?
I still wanted to add stitching on the last layered pattern paper and some blings or rhinestones on the "Pointe" tag. I'm still thinking about it. Maybe I'd do some re-touching soon . . . but for now, this LO stays as is. Maybe you could change my mind . . . .
Very truly Yours,
Kathleen (Kath) B. Hernandez

ReplyDeleteYou love to fill more space on your layouts, and I think you did a great job of still showcasing the original design, but keeping it within your personal style. Well done.
