When I got news that Amorsolo National Art has been turned and rendered into Amorsolo Crossstitch Design Patterns with the return of DMC Philippines, I hurriedly looked for a DMC store near me only to find out that the nearest Crossstitch Store carrying DMC products and Amorsolo's National Art crossstitch patterns is none other than Dreams Yarnshoppe, in Glorietta 5- Makati City.
They have a crossstitch, crochet and other thread crafts community forming at their shoppe. I got to converse to most of their community goers, happy for having a Dreams Yarnshoppe near them. I told them what I love to do and usually gets busy with in a day or daily . . . . my being a hobbyist turned into a full-time artist in this day of millenium.
Janet of Dreams Yarnshoppe together with the others chose me, if I could manage with my time and resources, to help the threads industry. I told them I would like to help with my crossstitch pattern and kit purchases from their shop but focusing only on Needlecrafts with the return of DMC in our country with the re-birth of a new DMC Philippines.
A Project with a Cause for me as:
- Lady Kat (Kat-Kat in my younger years) with my hobby of Brooches n Crossstitches (BnC) as the crossstitcher;
- Lady Katutz (Katutz in my toddler years) now with my hobby of Creo by Lady Katutz Designs (CBLKD) as the postcarder or postcard designer & maker; and
- Lady Kath (Kathleen - my real name) as the Philippine's Postcrossing.com Ambassador as the writer and sender of Needlecrafts postcards & promoter of Amorsolo National Art DMC Philippines crossstitch patterns.
This is my 2nd year to fulfill the above chosen duties for me to do with the proddings of Dreams Yarnshoppe, also with the knowledge of DMC Philippines from their Megamall Store, and with the proddings of Proud Pinoy Stitchers to do it for the 2nd year with my consent.
My Needlecrafts postcards recipients for the 1st year thru regular postcrossing are crossstitch aficionados and some of them are crossstitchers whose works appears in crossstitch magazines in their country. Others are crossstitchers whose works have been translated into postcards and are genuinely happy that the Philippines has such own Filipino works, art and designs in crossstitch.
Here's looking forward for a 2nd fruitful year working for the proliferation of Filipino crossstitch & needlecrafts ingenuity with our very 1st Philippine National Artist Fernando Amorsolo's national art in crossstitch.
PLEASE NOTE: I didn't receive funds for this project or for this donation project.
Kudos to us!!
